The address you will need

If the term means something to you: that is an MCP server address. If it does not, it is just the address to paste.

    Open your assistant's connector settings

    Look for Settings, then Customize or Connectors, then Add custom connector. Name it Assist With Plants and paste the address below as the server URL. Leave advanced client ID or secret fields empty unless your app specifically requires them.

    Add it, then choose Connect

    Adding the address and authorizing it are separate steps in some apps. After it appears in the list, choose Connect or Sign in. A conversation may explain these steps, but normally cannot change account-level connector settings for you.

    Sign in and review the access

    Signing in is the approval. There is no second permission screen to hunt for, and nothing is shared until you have signed in.

You will know it worked when your AI can tell you how many plants you have.

One assistant has connected here and done real work; a connected assistant is not a supported one, so nothing above is a claim that any particular app works. The first that is supported will be named at /updates. Apps that cannot add a connector at all still work either way — there is a copy-and-paste handoff that does the same job by hand, and it is not going away.

What your AI can do here

With the date and the note each one belongs to — nothing here writes a recording down, so what it hears is the whole of what it gets, and a recording you uploaded from elsewhere is named and held back unless its own bytes have been read and found to carry no place

Save observations, research and answers

Always signed with its name and the date, on the record it belongs to

Write in your journal as you dictate it

Dated observations, measurements, a plant added or corrected, and the decisions and care you tell it you carried out — recorded as reported by you, never as its own

Attach a photograph to a plant

Named and dated as attached by it, never as a photograph you took — and it cannot take one back off

Keep the rest of your records too

Species, Documents, places and growing contexts, collections, equipment and the record of the site itself — all under the same “Save its own work” switch, all signed and dated, and none of it able to overwrite a word you wrote

Check the queue you left it

When you tell it to look — it does not watch the queue by itself

Propose suggestions for you to decide on

With the evidence behind them, as a question, never as an action

Archive a plant, once you hand that over

Off until you give it on its own, and reversible — nothing is ever deleted

That is where a fresh connection starts. The first seven rows are switches you can turn off in Settings → Your AI, for one assistant at a time, and narrowing takes effect the moment you tap it. The eighth has no switch of its own — it travels with “Save its own work” — and archiving is never issued by signing in at all.

Nothing here is public, nothing is used to train a model, and no other product reads your records.

Everything it may do lives in Settings → Your AI, in the same plain words as the list above. Narrowing takes effect the moment you tap it.

Revoke whenever

One tap closes the door.

Its past work stays — signed with its name, so you can see what came from where. Every call it made is logged in plain language.

Works with what you already have. Assistants that support remote MCP connectors can add this address directly; one has, and a connected assistant is still not a supported one, so that is a description of the standard rather than a promise about any one app. Everything else — older versions, assistants with no connector support — works through the copy-and-paste handoff, and that path is supported permanently, not as a stopgap.

You do not need to connect anything to begin. Keep a record or two first, then connect when you want your AI to see them.
